Information is an asset, like other important business assets it has a value to an organisation and consequently it needs to be protected. One method of providing high level protection is to replicate servers and data to secondary systems which can be located on or off site.
SARN Technologies Ltd. design, install and support systems to provide continuous 24/7 availability.
Planning
The ability to understand both why and what data needs to be replicated are the main questions to consider when embarking on a replication project. The answers to these will determine the infrastructure of the final solution.
Why?
There are a number of reasons to replicate data e.g. Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery Planning and Continuous Data Access. The decision will be driven by business need but careful consideration of the implications on such things as working practices, security and performance etc must all be taken into account before a conclusion is reached.
What?
Once the “why” question has been answered, the next important decision to make is what data needs to be replicated. Knowing the reasons why will help to determine which data in the environment will be replicated. Chances are that while building a replication strategy, some infrastructure changes may need to take place. Identifying where the data sits can help to determine where these changes may need to take place and will ensure proper budgetary planning as a replication strategy takes shape.
Implementation
SARN Technologies Ltd, will manage the project from start to finish. On completion the systems are stress tested, training requirements completed, final commissioning and system handover. From this point on SARN Technologies Ltd provides a comprehensive support and maintenance service which can be tailored to each client’s particular requirements. Support services will ensure optimum performance of the solution and maximise return on investment.
